Congratulation to Cindy and Chee-Seong!

The proposal, Chee Seong + Cindy

The proposal, Chee Seong + Cindy

After nine years, Chee-Seong decided to take a big step forward in life with Cindy.

I know Chee Seong for years and he is always a caring and daring person. His first idea would be to propose in public, to give something unforgettable for Cindy. After hearing the good news from him, I was so happy and congratulated him. So I talked to Kenn-Wai and decided to give our support to Chee-Seong. The whole thing was but to keep it secret from Cindy.

After planning the surprise proposal, we invited their friends and family to gather at the concierge of Dataran Pahlawan Shopping Mall Melaka on last Saturday. And Cindy was otherwise didn’t know anything about this, but was only invited shop there with the sisters.

So the whole thing followed by Chee-Seong making a sudden appear on the stage with roses and singing a song of theirs when she was shopping at the concierge, just like what happened in the video. He gave her a really wonderful surprise, touched the heart of the bride-to-be and filled her eyes with tears.

And the answer was YES!

Congratulation to the lovely couple, Cindy and Chee-Seong. May the lovEE you share always continue to shine. As you look forward to all you’re dreaming of, may you be blessed with love and happiness forever!

Enjoy the video (watch HD version on Vimeo, or alternatively on YouTube) here as much as we do.

Have a lovely evening and may all beings bEE happy.

Christina Perri – A Thousand Years (Chow-Gui violin cover)

By Music and video

This is a very nice violin cover by my friend Chow-Gui. When I first saw his play, I knew I had to share this wonderful cover with all friends here.

This song is originally Christina Perri and written by Christina Perri and David Hodges. The words are magical. It’s about the waiting for someonEE special is often painful, but always worth it as true love endures. If it is meant to happen, if you believe, it will happen.

Heart beats fast
Colors and prom-misses
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall?

But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away

What’s standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Hope you like this cover. Many thanks again to the wonderful violin play by Chow-Gui and I’m looking forward for his next play.

May all beings be happy.

2012 Dragon in Malaqa

By Beautiful Melaka, Music and video

Before we release the second part of “Our town Malaqa” video, Fred, Kenn and I made a short film of pre Chinese New Year’s (CNY) atmosphere in Melaka.

While we were filming for the first video about our lovely hometown last month, it came to our mind that to do a Chinese New Year’s video as well, to share the many moments of CNY happiness with our fellow friends and family.

This video features decoration of Chinese New Year in the streets of Melaka town, shopping mood in Dahtaran Pahlawan, lion dance championship in Mahkota Parade, and invited some locals and foreigners to say a few greetings.

And fortunately we managed to capture the 398 feet long of 1Malaysia prosperity Dragon guarding the entrance to Jonker Street. The clips were included into the video right before we finalized it.

We really appreciate all of the great support and help from our friends in making this film. Besides, we would like to thank our friends and family who are always so kind and supportive to us. Without you life would be less colorful and nice.

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

May all beings bEE happy.

Ye Lai Xiang (夜来香) by Sandcastle

the live band, Sandcastle performing during Stephenie and Danny's wedding night

When I attended Stephenie and Danny’s wedding dinner last December, there was a liveband, Sandcastle performed many wonderful songs including Ye Lai Xiang (夜来香 in Chinese, fragrance of the night) for the guests of the dinner.

The song was originally sung by Li Xiang Lan in the 40s of the 20th century. Then the song is covered by many popular artists such as Teresa Teng and Fei Yu Qing.

Ye Lai Xiang is a Chinese name of a kind of flower, night blooming jasmine or scientifically known as Cestrum nocturnum. The flower blooms at night and are strongly scented which released at night. The lyric describes the beauty of the flower however it has another hidden meaning of missing a lady when nightfall.

During Stephenie and Danny’s dinner night, Ye Lai Xiang was the last song performed by Sandcastle and I managed to record it and share here:

A beautiful melody – piano performance by Stephen Tang

Stephen Tang at Jason's house

The day when my friend, Stephen Tang played the song, Ni Zhi Dao Wo Zai Deng Ni Ma (“Do you know I am waiting for you?” in Chinese) with the piano at Jason’s house, he then continued to perform another song with beautiful melody taught by Pastor John he met long ago.

Although Stephen later told us that he did not know the name of the song, he loved its rhythm, a fast yet sort of a mystical beat. Even Jason was interested to learn to play it; he stood next to Stephen and watched how Stephen’s fingers fluttering across the keys.

I recorded the play and share with friends here in juesatta. Stephen promised to play the song Shang Hai Tan, a well-known TV series theme song back in 80s, so I hope I have a chance to record the next play and share again.

Thanks to Stephen for performing such a beautiful melody. May all beings be happy.
