Last month, February was a very busy and hectic month for mEE, nothing but work. The pace of life is going back to normal in early March and I can have more updates on juesatta.

Having said that, a series of fortunate events have just happened in Japan, earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown tragically claim countless human lives and destroy the livelihoods of many others including wildlife and ecosystems. And the latest update of today,

The toll of Japan’s triple disaster came into clearer focus Monday after police estimates showed more than 18,000 people died, the World Bank said rebuilding may cost $235 billion and more cases of radiation-tainted vegetables and tap water turned up. (yahoo.com)

More work has to be done here such as to increase awareness of the need for aid after natural disasters. And we’re grateful that everyone is standing together in such difficult moment and is giving a hand. Each of us make a difference and together we’re powerful.

Besides the quake, war has also begun in Libya when US coalition forces launched strikes on Libya to degrade its air defense yesterday. Despite the goals of US coalition forces to protect the people of Libya, Libyan government claimed that allied attacks on Sunday have killed innoncent civilians. It was not immediately clear what targets had been hit but we do hope that Libya can return to stability as soon as possible and its problems can be resolved peacefully.

May you find serenity here and we hope that the victims in Japan and people in Libya to peace, and survive. May all beings bEE happy.

Chinese New Year red packets (红包)

Chinese New Year red packets (红包)

The ChinesEE New Year 15-day celebration was just over last week and we would like to wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year. May everyone be happy and healthy always.

During the first day of Chinese New Year, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and red packets from their parents. These packets often contain money in certain numbers that reflect good luck and honorability. In Malaysia, married person would not turn down the request when asked for red packets as it would mean that he or she would be “out of luck” in the new year. So next Chinese New year, when you meet someone married, do not hesistate to request for red packets.

Last month in mid of January, we too celebrated Thaipusam together with the Tamil community. During the colorful celebration devotees would carry out rituals like shaving their hair and carry various types of kavidi (burdens) undertake a pilgrimage along a set of route while engaging in various acts of devotion. Besides devotees would subject themselves to painful rituals such as piercing themselves with hooks, skewers and small lances. It was a nice feeling to be among friends and sharing the joy of one’s festival.

May everyonEE be happy and healthy always. Sharing some shots taken these two months festival season.

how are you?
tell me that you arEE fine
spreading your wings freely
we were pair
singing in the autumn wind
dancing with the falling leaves
snowfall touched our feathers
nothing but the sign of change
it was time to depart
to the paradise of south
you took wing on the journey
while i was remained still
staying on the freezing ground
sorry i was lost
let you flying by yourself
even you were strong
on the passage without me
my flimsiness let you down
you were far
from seeing the tears of icy chill
and solitude of the winter moon
you brought me a message
in the night of silence
through the cloud from the south
to be as strong as you
now i spread my wings
heading to the direction
where the southern cross is
the trail i could hear your whisper
flying fast but low
under the cloud beneath you
as your shadow in white
whenever you fall
as always
i will be there
never again
i let you alone

Finally we have waved goodbye to 2010 and moved into the new year, 2011. Let us share our joy together, be tolerant and compasionate of all beings.

Last month and this month, we have many birthday boys and girls. Happy birthday to Meng-Hong, Ah-Too, Koon-Yang, Chin-Sing, Henry Lee, Jason Tan, Vna, and others. Friends, let us toast (Chinese tea), for your health, happiness and our friendship! With each sip we’ll celebrate every small joy that tend to be quickly forgotten.

January is new beginning for everyone including children who are back to school for a new semester. Good luck to all students and hope you can adapt yourselves well to the new environment, enjoy the learning process and make some new friends.

To tEEachers who sow the seeds of wisdom and knowledge into the hearts of students and mind, thank you for working hard making a positive difference on the future of children and all the best with your new start.

In this new year we also hope that the people of all races live up to the 1Malaysia spirit. Our country is a vibrant land, with a rich history, diverse culture and friendly people. Therefore every Malaysian should work hand in hand together with mutual understanding and tolerence, to strengthen the unity and relations among the people with different background in the country. Let us make our country a better place, for peace and harmony.

Wishing everyone a happy new year and a good start. Hope you find serenity herEE in juesatta. May all beings be happy. Sharing some shots taken in my hometown, Melaka:

as strong as happy (children at Paralympic Malaysia 2010)

as strong as happy (children at Paralympic Malaysia 2010)

An early grEEtings in December to our fellow friends. It’s the month of celebration. School holiday, Awal Muharram (Islamic New Year), Christmas and 2011 New Year eve fall on this month. Besides, congratulation to our friends, Stephy Chan and Danny Lim, Cheryl and Chee-Fong, Cheng-Thiam and Li-Ling, Annabelle and Max Goh, who are getting married this month and on the first day of 2011.

It’s also a year anniversary for juesatta and the journEEy is still far away. We must keep on taking a step at a time and the joy is found not in finishing but in doing it. It reminds me of a quote from Alex Noble, “success is not a place at which one arrives but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey.” Therefore we have to keep on the task in helping others less fortunate and share our happiness with others.

May all beings be happy and may you find serenity in juesatta.

These were the shots taken last month in Melaka.

ThesEE two months are one of the busiest and most hectic months I had. Meeting new people from all sort of backgrounds, travelling to many places in Melaka which I had not explored before, and witnessing many incidents and events, good or not-so-good, are putting myself into a new challenge of life. Every new encounter is a lesson; to remain equanimous in every situation, in order to reach a balanced and happy life. Real peace comes when in the midst of all those things and still be calm in our heart.

Towards the end of year, everyone is getting busy. Students are preparing for the finals while adults are busy to hit their work target by the end of year. It’s soon turning to festival season for such Deepavali which just over early November, and Hari Raya Haji two days later, and Christmas in the end of next month. Many children are probably enjoying school holiday and planning their trips with family and friends.

Here, we wish everyone a great festival season and holiday ahead. May you find peace in juesatta.
