Baby En-en

little En-en didn't want to sleep

Two days ago I went to visit En-en, baby of Janic. She is a cute, two-month old, and very healthy baby. Janic told me En-en has been very active lately and hardly feeling sleepy.

During my visit, I captured some photos of En-en and it wasn’t easy. En-en has associated love with Janic’s arms, thus cried and didn’t want to fall asleep whenever Janic left her on the bed for taking photos.

Thanks to Janic, hopefully we get to photograph En-en again, certainly together with the mom and dad. Little En-en shall spread smiles and warmth in the family. May she be as fascinating, beautiful and cheerful as her mother and as smart and kind as her father.

"i'm waiting for dad"

"i'm waiting for dad"

It has come to JunEE. Another busy period where time is so retrained to update the website.

First we would like to express our deepest condolence to the loss of a great father, Mr Chan in the month of Fathers Day. Dear Jamie and Janic, it’s with profound sadness to hear that your father passed away. May your memories be your comfort.

When Murphy and I attended the wake of deceased Mr Chan, we had a good chat together with Jamie and Janic’s husband, Zhi-Wei. Of course the three of them have their own family now with children. So our conversation was mainly about family relationships.

They shared their experiences of being a husband and a father, on how to bring comfort to the ones they love. We  also discussed on family issues in society such as the effect on moral development of children with single-parent family.

I really appreciate that they shared the challenges at times and satisfaction of being a father, and ways to build and maintain good relationship with their spouse. They showed the key of happinEEss: truth, honesty, understanding, and devotion.

Thanks to the three fathers for sharing their valuable experiences. June, happy Fathers Day!

May all beings be happy. Sharing some shots taken in Melaka:

Meeting Jamie Chan again with his students and artworks

Ascetic gautama - clay art by Jamie

Ascetic Gautama - clay art by Jamie

Last week I went to visit Jamie Chan. Remember the post of Jamie Chan the animal lover last year on juesatta? Jamie is an art teacher.

When I visited Jamie during the evening, he was at his art class teaching a few children. There were five students. Due to the Chinese New Year period, children were having holiday so not many attended the class on that day.

When I arrived, Jamie was writing Chinese calligraphy, then we started our chat with warm greetings. On my request, Jamie showed his artworks to me. I had a chance to shoot some photos of these amazing art pieces: twin-headed turtle, alien in an egg, lizard fossil, lizard, fantastic drawings, dinosaur teapot, and my favorite the ascetic Gautama.

Later on, out of no where Jamie brought out his collection of his old drawings in his early years in primary school and secondary school. Jamie’s paintings were mostly freestyle, his brushes flowed freely with his feeling and mood. It was really interesting to see how Jamie improved throughout the years, and how his style evolved could be anticipated from his early years’ paintings.

Furthermore, Jamie loved clay art and did many in recent years. Most of them were made and colored then displayed in nicely decorated fish tanks in his class. These wonderful display in class, however would provide an artistic atmosphere and would inspire the students’ interest. These clay artworks were all my favorite especially the ascetic Gautame which seemed like a real unearthed artifact to me.

Jamie and his partner, Joan are both art teacher of the class. Although the mother wasn’t there when I went, the daughter, Si Si was there learning from his daddy. A very artistic family indeed. And I know Jamie from his sister, Janic who is also a great artist and has recently resumed her art class too. I hope I have a chance to shoot Janic’s artworks in future.
