Celebrating Eva & Bryan

Celebrating Eva & Bryan

Brendon, King and I were pleased to meet Eva & Bryan, and photographed their wonderful wedding in the final quarter of last year.

There are so much to tell about Eva and Bryan two lovely couple from Melaka. We have something in common, as Eva and Bryan are outdoor lover especially for the beach, sunshine, and scuba diving.

Eva was dressed up in a beautiful gown and golden heels in the morning waiting for her man to come for a crazy gate crush session. The playful bridesmaids must have brainstorming the night before for the games which took the groomsmen quite some time to complete them so that Bryan could enter the room and gave the lovely bride a kiss to last a lifetime.

Luncheon reception was held the next day at Equatorial Hotel Melaka. It was sweet and full of romance when the couple marched in after a saxophone lead. A photobooth was also setup near the entrance allowing family and friends to have fun shots together throughout the reception.

There was something really heartbreaking to me and to couple and family, when knowing the passing of Bryan’s beloved father weeks before the wedding. It was an unfortunate timing however Bryan had his family’ support.

Although they missed dad so much, they honored the his memory and carried the wedding ceremony as planned. Lots of hugs and tears happened during the wedding showing the great support and encouragement from family and friends. The moments were emotional yet touching.

We had a great wedding shoot time with Eva and Bryan, and thank you again for having us on your special day. Congratulation on your happy wedding and may you find peace, faith and love in each other’s arms. May all bEE happy.

Inspired by the love of Cindy & Chee Seong

inspired by the love of Cindy & Chee Seong

Time to start a write out and post some engagement shots including this of my good friends, Cindy and Chee Seong early this year in a few places in Malaysia. Both of them are very supportive and encouraging to me since the day I started photography. To me, they are friends, they are family, and they are always there for me when help is needed.

One of the many reasons I admire Cindy and Chee Seong is they are one of the sweetest couples I know. They have known each other for 7 years. When Cindy was doing her tertiary study in Johor and she was doing part time work, then she met the man of her life.

Cindy is from Melaka and Chee Seong was born in Seremban, a small town shares some similar characteristic of Melaka. But distance was never a problem to them. Cindy once told me one of the many things Chee Seong did which touched her heart was Chee Seong once rode an old motorbike from Seremban to Johor and just to see her. It took him at least 4 hours and full of risk which then won her heart even more.

Even for their marriage proposal, Chee Seong did something sweet really. He gave her a surprise proposal on the stage of Dataran Pahlawan shopping mall. With their special love song sung on the stage in front of public to drew her attention when she was shopping in the concourse where the stage is with her friends. Kenn and I did the The Proposal – Chee-Seong and Cindy. That was how she said ‘I do” and became Mrs. Lew. Who could resist such a sweet and courageous proposal by their loved one?

They tied the knot in mid of this year and I was invited to do a prewedding shoot for them. We had an early arrangement and discussion prior to the shooting. Things like gowns and dresses, props, make up, location, outstation arrangement were mostly done and arranged by Cindy and Chee Seong, which was not an easy thing for most couples.

We did a few shootings for a few day in a few places. We had fun, traveled together and took photos whenever there were spontaneous loving experiences happened between them. When we did a shooting in Port Dickson, there was a pour. They showed the passion for another, held and kissed regardless of the rain.

Many little things that tell how they have come together so far and so loving. As a friend, I always enjoy the time hanging out with them and listen to their stories. I feel grateful for them trusting in me and being so supportive in my passion and career, and appreciate our friendship.

A big thanks and congratulation to Cindy and Chee Seong. Happy marriage and may your life be fulfilled with each other’s company and that you may grow old and happy together. Enjoy your time together, and bring on the babies!

May all beings bEE happy.

Celebrating Joern & Wilking

celebrating Joern & Wilking, and cute little Xerxes

Right, more than a year since I last blogged about weddings. It’s time to catch up with some writings and really get some stories going now!

Great love story starting with Joern and Wilking’s, who got married few months back. Both Brendon and I were glad to photograph their wedding held in Melaka.

Both of them have a special and beautiful names. When I met Joern and Wilking before their wedding, I was introduced to their cute little one year-old son, Xerxes. First thing which came into my mind of the name Xerces was the Persian King from the film ‘300’, and I was right. Wilking named his name after the great king of Persian and hoping his son to be someone great and mighty.

In the morning of their big day, I photographed at Joern’s place during her make-up while Brendon covering groom’s preparation. There were many vintage Oriental prints on Joern’s wall, that tells why Joern was wearing traditional Chinese gown instead of white gown. Qiao-Yi from M Nicole Make Up did a great job making the bride just looked gorgeous.

When Wilking arrived at the bride’s place, gate crush game commenced with yoga on foot massage stones, team-walking on chairs, treasure hunt in flour, and the most disgusting one, biting the ice-cream made of wasabi, insect herbs, vinegar and many secret ingredients in order to get the right key hid in the ice-cream for opening the house door.

After vowing and pleasing the beautiful bride, Wilking finally got to take his wife and offered tea to their parents and elders from the family.

Joern and Wilking’s evening reception at Lu Yeh Yen Restaurant was one of the largest receptions we photographed. Over 800 of guests attended the evening reception.

It was also our first time working with JC Studio videography team from KL and it was so great working with them, such a professional and humble videography team, and I would recommend them for wedding videography. Feel free to drop by their FB page (https://www.facebook.com/jcstudio.my).

Thanks again to Joern and Wilking for trusting in us, and congratulation! Wishing them lots of wonderful moments of togetherness now and always, and a lifetime of happiness.

May all beings bEE happy.

The proposal, Chee-Seong and Cindy

Congratulation to Cindy and Chee-Seong!

The proposal, Chee Seong + Cindy

The proposal, Chee Seong + Cindy

After nine years, Chee-Seong decided to take a big step forward in life with Cindy.

I know Chee Seong for years and he is always a caring and daring person. His first idea would be to propose in public, to give something unforgettable for Cindy. After hearing the good news from him, I was so happy and congratulated him. So I talked to Kenn-Wai and decided to give our support to Chee-Seong. The whole thing was but to keep it secret from Cindy.

After planning the surprise proposal, we invited their friends and family to gather at the concierge of Dataran Pahlawan Shopping Mall Melaka on last Saturday. And Cindy was otherwise didn’t know anything about this, but was only invited shop there with the sisters.

So the whole thing followed by Chee-Seong making a sudden appear on the stage with roses and singing a song of theirs when she was shopping at the concierge, just like what happened in the video. He gave her a really wonderful surprise, touched the heart of the bride-to-be and filled her eyes with tears.

And the answer was YES!

Congratulation to the lovely couple, Cindy and Chee-Seong. May the lovEE you share always continue to shine. As you look forward to all you’re dreaming of, may you be blessed with love and happiness forever!

Enjoy the video (watch HD version on Vimeo, or alternatively on YouTube) here as much as we do.

Have a lovely evening and may all beings bEE happy.

Congratulations to Siew-Chen and Melvin

Another brilliant day with Siew-Chen and Melvin in early June this year. We, Kenn-Wai, Fred, Brendon and I had the pleasure to photograph and video-shoot their big day.

On the lovely morning, we found ourselves with a pretty bride and her attractive bridesmaids wearing beautiful Cheong Sam. And the guys weren’t bad either; groom was smart looking in black Zhong Shan Zhuang while the brothers were wearing Chinese Tang Suit.

Both Siew-Chen and Melvin play band and sometimes perform in public. This explained why they and their friends were so sporting and happening on that day especially during the door games to pick up the bride.  The guys had to finish up the girls’ secret recipe bitter gourd juice, specially made extra spicy sausages, and lastly the ladies’ favorite, cicada pudding. These so-called food would definitely get into the Top 10 Most Gross and Disgusting Food in weddings.

The wedding kiss happened after Melvin read up and signed a marriage contract, a loving yet unequal treaties I would say. Then he and the brothers sang the song “If I Have A Million Dollar”, kind a funny song to please the bride before he was allowed to enter the room and kissed the bride.

Soon after the tea ceremony at Melvin’s place, they went to their new house and Siew-Chen changed from her white wedding gown to a red traditional Kwa, a heavily embroidered formal Chinese wedding gown. Then she had an ornate headdress on and looked gorgeous.

The fun carried on into the night. The reception was held at LTP Restaurant Melaka. Siew-Chen’s mom spiced up the night by giving a few songs on the stage and drew large applause from the guests. And now we know where Siew-Chen’s beautiful voice comes from.

Thanks to Siew-Chen and Melvin for having us on your special day. Congratulation and may the singing of enjoyment be along with you, may the life in the following year filled with joyance and happiness, and may you have a wonderful new life togEEther!

May all beings bEE happy. Sharing some shots taken on the day and hope you enjoy.
